For the first time ever, IWC presents a Pilot’s Chronograph with a movement from the 69000-calibre family, housed in a reduced case size with a diameter of 41 millimetres. The IWC-manufactured 69380 calibre is a rugged chronograph movement with a classic column wheel design. It displays stopped hours and minutes in two subdials at “9 o’clock” and “12 o’clock”. The bidirectional pawl-winding system builds up a power reserve of 46 hours. This chronograph with a bronze case, an olive green dial and a brown calfskin strap has a unique character. Depending on the use to which it is put, bronze develops a patina in the course of time and darkens in colour, giving the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Spitfire its own unmistakable character. A soft-iron inner case effectively shields the movement from magnetic fields.
During tortuous manoeuvres involving supersonic jets like the F/A-18, pilots are subjected to high g forces. But also extended missions on aircraft carriers, where they are exposed to the humid, salt-bearing sea air, put an enormous strain on both personnel and material. The TOP GUN Chronograph was developed using robust and corrosion-resistant materials such as ceramic and titanium for the elite among the US Navy’s jet pilots. For the first time ever, IWC has equipped this classic with an in-house movement from the 69000-calibre family. Apart from its stopwatch function, the IWC-manufactured 69380 calibre also has displays for the day and date. The red small seconds hand at “6 o’clock” provides a striking colourful highlight on the black dial. The case is made of-non-reflective black zirconium oxide ceramic, the back of the case from titanium. The watch is attached to the wrist with a black textile strap.

A clearly organized dial and excellent legibility even under the most demanding conditions are the key features of the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph. Thanks to the robust 79320-calibre chronograph movement, it is possible to record single and aggregate times of up to 12 hours. The subdials at “12” and “6 o’clock” are used for aggregate timing while the red seconds hand at “9 o’clock” indicates that the watch is running normally. The movement has optimum protection against the effects of external magnetic fields in the form of a soft-iron inner case. The watch is water-resistant to 6 bar and is sold with a black calfskin strap. The back of the stainless-steel case features an engraving of a Junkers JU-52, whose cockpit design was the inspiration for all Pilot’s Watches.
A clearly organized and open dial, with the characteristic minutes scale and the small seconds at “6 o’clock”: IWC’s Reference 325 in the late 1930s established a classic design idiom that has run as a common thread through the history of the Portugieser family ever since. Now the timelessly modern design returns to the collection in a new automatic model with a compact case diameter of 40 millimetres. The Portugieser Automatic 40 is powered by the IWC-manufactured 82200 calibre. This robust, high-quality automatic movement has a Pellaton winding system with components made of virtually non-wearing ceramic, which builds up a power reserve of 60 hours. This model features a stainless-steel case, a silver-plated dial, as well as gold-plated hands and appliqués. It is fitted with a black alligator leather strap. Thanks to the newly developed butterfly folding clasp, the watch is particularly comfortable to wear.

The Portugieser Chronograph is one of IWC Schaffhausen’s most iconic models. With its compact diameter of 41 millimetres, it fits almost any wrist. However, the thin bezel gives one the impression of wearing a significantly larger watch. The clear, functional dial boasts applied Arabic numerals and slender Feuille hands. Printed with a quarter-second scale, the characteristic réhaut not only allows precise reading of the stop time but also reminds us of the Portugieser’s origins as a nautical precision instrument for the wrist. This model features a stainless steel case, a silver-plated dial, as well as golden hands and appliqués; it is fitted with a black alligator leather strap. Inside the sporty-elegant chronograph, the IWC-manufactured 69355 calibre is at work. The robust and precise chronograph movement in classic column-wheel design is visible through a sapphire-glass case back.
